Poker is more than luck – it's a game of skill, psychology, and strategy. Master these fundamentals to give yourself a real edge at the table.
Position at the poker table matters enormously. Players who act last (late position) have a clear advantage because they can read their opponents' actions first. At ron97, always make the most of the dealer and cutoff positions to make sharper, more informed decisions.
Never risk more than 5% of your bankroll in a single game. If you're playing at a RM10/RM20 table, make sure you have at least RM400–RM600 as a cushion. Disciplined bankroll management is the key to long-term success.
Poker is a game of information. Pay attention to your opponents' betting patterns – do they always raise from early position? Do they fold too quickly? That information is worth more than the cards in your own hand.
New players often find it hard to fold. The truth is, knowing when to fold is a mark of a smart player. If you don't believe in your hand, let it go. There will be better hands in the next round.
"Tilt" happens when emotions take over your decisions. After a big loss, don't try to get even by betting bigger. Step away for a moment, take a breath, and come back to the table with a clear head. ron97 provides a break button in your account settings.
Pot odds help you make a mathematical decision on whether it's worth calling or folding. If there's RM100 in the pot and you need to call RM20, your pot odds are 5:1. Compare that against your odds of completing your hand to make the best possible decision.

Poker is one of the most beloved card games in the world, and Malaysia is no exception. From mamak tables to online platforms, Malaysians' passion for poker continues to grow. That's where ron97 is here to meet that demand – with a full suite of online poker tables, live tables with real dealers, and a platform built specifically for local players.
What sets poker at ron97 apart from other platforms? For a start, all game interfaces and customer support are available in Bahasa Malaysia. Picture yourself in an intense hand at the Texas Hold'em table and you need a quick clarification on a specific rule – you can chat directly with the ron97 support team in your own language, without having to rely on translations that can sometimes cause more confusion than they resolve. That might sound like a small thing, but it's a difference players genuinely feel every single day.
The poker variant lineup at ron97 is impressively comprehensive. Texas Hold'em is naturally the top pick – a game that blends reading opponents, betting strategy, and a touch of luck into one compelling package. For seasoned players looking for a tougher challenge, Omaha Hi-Lo adds another layer of complexity with four hole cards instead of two. Meanwhile, Video Poker is the perfect option for those who prefer playing at their own pace, free from the pressure of human opponents.
The tournament system at ron97 is one of the most talked-about features in the Malaysian poker community. The daily freeroll requires no buy-in, giving every member the chance to sharpen their skills without any financial risk. This is especially valuable for newer players who want to get a feel for real competitive play without worrying about losses. From there, you can step up to the weekly Sunday Showdown, and eventually test yourself at the Malaysia Poker Grand Prix, where the prize pool reaches up to RM250,000.
Ron97's payment system is built with Malaysian players in mind. Deposits can be made via Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow, or FPX through Maybank2u and CIMB Clicks – all methods that everyday Malaysians are already familiar with. A minimum deposit of just RM10 means anyone can get started without a large financial commitment. And when you win, withdrawals are processed in as little as 5 minutes, sent directly to your e-wallet or bank account.
For more serious players, ron97's VIP programme comes with a host of exclusive perks. Gold and Diamond tier members enjoy weekly rakeback, higher withdrawal limits, a dedicated account manager for special requests, and of course, access to the Diamond Invitational – an exclusive tournament with a RM100,000 prize pool open only to selected VIP members. Every hand you play earns VIP points, bringing you closer to the top tier.
On the security front, ron97 makes no compromises. The platform uses 256-bit SSL encryption across all data and transactions. Live poker tables run on stable streaming technology to ensure there are no interruptions during critical hands. The random number generator (RNG) used in Video Poker and computer-based games has been independently certified to guarantee complete fairness. Players can enjoy the game with full confidence that the system cannot be manipulated by anyone.
Ron97 also takes player wellbeing seriously. Poker can be highly addictive, especially when you're on a hot streak. That's why the platform offers responsible gaming tools such as daily deposit limits, loss limits, and the option to take a temporary break. If you feel the game is starting to affect your daily life, don't wait – use the self-exclusion feature or reach out to the ron97 support team, who are available to help at any time.
